State of the Art Facilities
Our facilities, equipped with 24 proprietary Wurster fluid bed coaters, are designed for optimal scalability and efficiency. From research batches as small as 0.010 kg to commercial batches up to 800 kg, our technology supports projects of all sizes. As an FDA and EMA-approved GMP and GLP contract manufacturing facility, we maintain the highest standards of quality and compliance, providing our clients with products they can trust.

A Rich History of Innovation
Dr. Dale E. Wurster invents and patents the Wurster fluid bed coating process at the University of Wisconsin. His pioneering work lays the foundation for modern micro-encapsulation techniques.
1950-1960s
Harlan Hall establishes Coating Place, Inc. in Verona, Wisconsin, with the original Wurster technology. The company quickly expands, enhancing its capabilities and developing new coating methods.
1970s
Coating Place introduces the first micro-coater for research and advances Wurster coating technology with larger, multi-nozzle units, enabling commercial-scale production.
1980s
The company revolutionizes the industry with proprietary linear scalability, allowing seamless transition from research to commercial manufacturing.
1990s
Facility expansions and technological advancements mark a period of significant growth, including the introduction of DEA-licensed controlled substance processing.
2000s
Coating Place acquires a second manufacturing facility in Sauk City, Wisconsin, expanding its specialty chemical and food-grade manufacturing capabilities.
